Out for a Kill is a 2003 Steven Seagal film directed by Michael Oblowitz.
[edit] Plot
Out for a Kill follows an archaeologist named Robert Burns (Seagal) as he hunts down the leaders of the Tong, a Chinese crime syndicate that killed his wife.
The film begins with Burns on an archaeological excavation in China. After members of the Tong show up and steal ancient artifacts, they try to kill Burns. They fail, but Burns's assistant is killed. Chinese police officers suspect Burns of the murder, and he is arrested. While there, it is revealed that he used to be a CIA operative. After spending some time in jail, the DEA releases Burns in order to use him to track down the Tong. After being released, he attends the funeral of his assistant, where he is attacked by members of the Tong. He defeats them, but doing so earns him the attention of the Tong hierarchy. After returning home, Burns can only watch as the Tong destroy his house and kill his wife. He goes on a killing spree, and he finds that each enemy he slays has a one-word tattoo on his arm. By putting those together, Burns is able to track down the head of the Tong. They engage in a brief fight, and Burns emerges the victor.
