Outside Left
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Outside left is a position in football which refers to a footballer who plays as a forward on the left wing, typically as part of a 2-3-5 formation in one of other of its variants. As football tactics have developed, and wingers have become midfielders, the terminology has changed and “outside left” has become a historical term.
Famous players who played outside left include Eric Brook, Cliff Bastin and Willie Johnson.
