OzTAM

OzTAM is an Australian television ratings research firm that collects and markets television ratings data. It is jointly owned by the Seven Network, the Nine Network and Network Ten, and is the official source of television ratings data for all metroplitan television in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth as well as subscription services (such as Foxtel) on a national basis.
Prior to OzTAM, the dominant metropolitan ratings company was Neilsen Media Research. The two companies competed for a short time, before Neilsen pulled out. Neilsen continues to be active in some regional areas.
Ratings are collected over 40 weeks of the year, with breaks of 2 weeks over Easter and 10 weeks over summer.
