Pêro Vaz de Caminha

Pêro Vaz de Caminha (1450-1500) (pron. IPA: ['peɾu vaʃ dɨ kɐ'miɲɐ], Portuguese explorer that accompanied Pedro Álvares Cabral in the discovery of Brazil, being one of the captains of the fleet. Caminha wrote what is considered by many to be one of the most accurate and detailed accounts of the discovery of Brazil in his Carta de Pero Vaz de Caminha.

Pedro Vaz de Caminha was secretary to the Portuguese admiral Pedro Álvares Cabral. He submitted his writings on discovery of Brazil to the king of Portugal.
