The Painted Firetail Emblema pictum is a common species of estrildid finch found in Australia. It has an estimated global extent of occurrence of 1,000,000 km². It is also known as the Painted Finch or the Painted Firetail Finch
It is found in semi-desert area, grassland & subtropical (lowland) dry grass land. The status of the species is evaluated as Least Concern.
