The Palace of Sports is situated in the center ofIt was built in 1960 under the leadership of Mykhailo Hrechyna and Aleksei Zavarov as a major indoor sports arena. It was also a venue for large concerts with bands such as Deep Purple, A-Ha and Big Country. The venue also hosts major exhibitions and trade fairs. In 2005 it hosted the Eurovision Song Contest, which required the facilities to be brought up to the standard required by the European Broadcasting Union.

- Capacity: 6000 people for both the semi-final and final of the contest in 2005. Additionally 2000 press delegates will be catered for.
