Paraíso, Panama
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Paraíso was a township of the old Panama Canal Zone.
The Canal Zone was originally segregated, and this was one of the black townships.
Since the turnover to Panamanian control, it is now a primarily residential town.
Paraiso is located along the Gaillard Highway somewhat north of the former Fort Clayton, a fair ways inland from the coast on the Pacific side. Just above the town is a spot where the highway crosses the continental divide.
