Paripatra

Prince Paripatra Sukhumbhand (Thai: สมเด็จพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอ เจ้าฟ้าบริพัตรสุขุมพันธุ์ กรมพระนครสวรรค์วรพินิต) was a highly influential Thai military officer during the absolute monarchy period of the early-1900's. He was Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Army, Commander of the Royal Thai Navy, Naval Minister, Army Minister, Defense Minister, Interior Minister, and Privy Councelor to King Vajiravudh and King Prajadhipok. He was exiled following the 1932 coup that overthrew the absolute monarchy of King Prajadhipok. Prince Paripatra died while in exile.
A potential heir to the Thai throne according to the 1924 Palace Law of Succession, Prince Paripatra produced 8 children with his royal wife, Mom Chao Prasongsom Chaiyan. However, only 2 of them were sons and only 1 of them survived to adulthood: Chumbhotpong Paripatra. He also had a son with a commoner wife, Mom Somphan Palakawong: Sukhumbhinanda - father of Mom Ratchawong Sukhumbhand Paripatra, a Thai politician.
