Park Village is one of several groups of student residences at the University of Sussex.
The village consists of several "streets" of adjoining three-storey houses which are laid out to form a pedestrian precinct. It includes 468 single rooms, 24 small two-bedroom flats and 36 family flats. In the majority of the buildings, housing the solo rooms, each house has 12 single study bedrooms, kitchens on top and bottom floors, and bathrooms on the middle floor. The bedrooms all have their own washbasins.
There is also a social centre which houses the manager's office, the porter's lodge, family room and a popular student cocktail bar which holds regular open-mic and pub quiz nights. For some years the family room also served as the consultation point for the Niteline confidential listening and advice service.
The village is known for the local badger population, members of which can often be found forraging for food late at night.
