Parkes Way, Canberra
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Parkes Way is a road in Canberra, Australia, between the Glenloch Interchange and Kings Avenue. It passes by the shore of Lake Burley Griffin. At the Glenloch Interchange it intersects with William Hovell Drive, Tuggeranong Parkway, and the planned Gungahlin Drive Extension.
It passes by the edge of Black Mountain Nature Reseve, the Australian National University. It also passes just south of Civic, north of Commonwealth Park and Kings Park and ends at the suburb of Russell.
Due to the orange lighting on the southbound lanes of the tunnel, it is sometimes referred by locals to as the "Tic Tac Tunnel", a reference to the orange tic tac confectionery, which are white but are in an orange packet making them appear orange.
