Pasaband District,Ghor

The Pasaband District is located in the southern part of the Ghor Province,Afghanistan.The population is 80 700 (11% Pashtun, 5% Hazara and 84% Tajik).The district center is Shinkot.
Pasaband is a mountainous district and the winters are long and severe.Roads are not in good condition and some villages are accessible only using animals.Because of that and the few wells the access to clean water is the main problem for the distant from the wells villages.
Agriculture is the main source of income and the drought seriously affects it.The health and education need improvement.
