From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Patricia Lascelles, Countess of Harewood (born 24 November 1926) is an Australian violinist and fashion model.
Patricia was born in Melbourne, the daughter of Charles Tuckwell and his wife, Elizabeth and an older sister of Barry Tuckwell. She was a violinist for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. It is said that she was so beautiful that people would purchase tickets just to see her play.
Patricia was also a fashion model and a favourite model of Athol Shmith. On 7 July 1948, she married Athol in Melbourne and they had one son, Michael (b. 1949). While they were married, Patricia often modeled under the name Bambi Shmith. In 1951 she was one of the founders of the Mannequins’ Association of Victoria. The couple was divorced in 1957.
Patricia then married George Lascelles, 7th Earl of Harewood on 31 July 1967 at New Canaan, Connecticut, USA. British law [1] prohibited members of the royal family from marrying without the consent of the Queen. At that time, permission had never been granted to marry a divorcee. They have one son, Mark Lascelles (born 4 July 1965).
