Patrick Ianni (born April 15, 1985 in Lodi, California) is an American soccer defensive midfielder, who currently plays for Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer.
After completing his junior season at UCLA and playing in the USL Premier Development League with the Southern California Seahorses, Ianni entered the 2006 MLS SuperDraft he was chosen by Houston as the 8th overall pick. Patrick's performance with the Bruins led to his Hermann Award nomination. Since Ianni is an underclassman with a Generation adidas contract, he will not count against Houston's salary cap.
Patrick has been a part of several U.S. national youth teams, including the under-20 squad that participated at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship, which was hosted by the Netherlands.
Patrick's brother Tayt played in MLS for the San Jose Clash.
His career aspiration is to become a Christian Preacher. [1]
