Patrick William Rooney was born on June 19th, 1989 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Massachusetts to William (Bill) and Kathryn (Kacie) Rooney. When he was 2 years old, his brother Andrew John Rooney was born. Patrick moved to Springfield, Virginia in October of 1996 where he began attending Saratoga Elementary School where he graduated from in 2001. He then moved on to Francis Scott Key Middle School and then Robert E. Lee High School in 2003. While at LHS, Patrick has been incredibly involved in the Lancer Theatre Department, the Madrigal Choir, the "It's Academic Team", as well as the Young Republican and Young Libertarian clubs.
[edit] Lancer Theatre Involvement
Patrick was involved in theatre while at Key Middle School, but became even more involved when he hit the high school level. His first performance with the Lee HS Lancer Theatre was as Patrick in Godspell in February 2004. Patrick won a Lee HS Thespian Award for that role. He later portrayed Sir Lucius O'Trigger in The Rivals in May 2004, for which he won another Lee HS Thespian Award.
Other performances include Senator Titus Savage (R-CT) in The Curious Savage in November 2005 and Dr. Orin Scrivello DDS in Little Shop of Horrors by Howard Ashman. He received both a Lee HS Thespian Award and a Cappie Award Nomination for his portrayal of Orin. Most recently, in November of 2006, he played Willum Cubbert in The Nerd. In March of 2007, he will be performing as Charlie Brown in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown.
He served as President of the Lee HS Drama Club from 2004-2005 and as Thespian Honor Troupe #362's Public Relations Officer from 2005-2006. In 2005, he became the Captain of the Lancer Theatre Improv Team and still holds the position.

[edit] Involvement in the Boy Scouts of America
Patrick first joined the Boy Scouts as a Tiger Cub in Pack 37 of Attleboro, MA in 1995. When he moved to Sringfield, VA, he transferred to Pack 1892. He received Cub Scouting's highest honor, the Arrow of Light, in 2000. After completing Cub Scouts he crossed over to Boy Scout Troop 859 of Springfield, VA where he has served as a Den Chief, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader. In 2006 he received Scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout.
In 2003 Patrick was selected for membership in the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society. In late 2003, he was elected Vice Chief of Unit Programs for the Old Dominion Chapter of Amangamek Wipit Lodge #470 of the Order of the Arrow. In November 2004, Patrick was elected Lodge Chief of Amangamek Wipit Lodge and served in that position until May 2006. In January of 2005 he headed up the Order of the Arrow's involvement in the 2005 Presidential Inauguration. After stepping down as Lodge Chief, Patrick was elected Section Vice Chief of Section NE-4C of the Order of the Arrow. His term lasts in that position through June 2007.
In January of 2006, Amangamek Wipit bestowed upon Patrick the highest award that an Order of the Arrow Lodge can give to it's members, the Founder's Award. Amangamek Wipit (a lodge with 4800 members) can only present 4 such awards a year. In August 2006 Patrick received the highest honor in the Order of the Arrow, the Vigil Honor.
