Paul Maher, Jr. is a teacher and author best known for his two published books about Jack Kerouac. Maher grew up in Kerouac's hometown of Lowell, Massachusetts, which he says provided the inspiration for his research and writing on the subject of that particular poet. Maher enlisted in the United States Navy and, after attending the University of Massachusetts and earning a degree in American Studies, became a high school teacher and writer. Maher has published two books, one a collection of interviews with Jack Kerouac and the other a biography of the author.
Maher currently has four books projected for future publication, plus a retitled revision of his Kerouac biography, now called Kerouac: His Life and Work
