Is it really plausible that Cummings would run against Mfume? I mean, even Wynn wouldn't challenge Mfume, and he's in a very different political position from him. Cummings is Mfume's successor - they have exactly the same base of support. john k 21:04, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Please consult this source before changing the "Succeeded by" sections of the article. This is the official position of wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, predicting what will happen in the future. As the Senator is still in office, the article should be left as it is.
