Pawan Kumar Chamling

Pawan Kumar Chamling (b. 22 September 1950) is the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Sikkim. He is the fifth Chief Minister of the state, since it joined India in 1975. Chamling belongs to the Sikkim Democratic Front party, which has governed Sikkim for three terms since 1994, winning the 1994, 1999 and 2004 elections.
Chamling was born in Yangang in South Sikkim district and entered politics in 1973. He is also the author of several books.
