[edit] Pella Dutch
If anyone has easy access to the book Pella Dutch: The Portrait of a Language and Its Use in One of Iowa's Ethnic Communities, it would be an excellent source to create a section on the Dutch language as spoken by people in Pella. If not, I might purchase a copy for myself later and create the section myself. --68.109.185.29 19:30, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Speaking as somebody that grew up in Pella, I'd say that the Dutch language is not really spoken as a whole in Pella. You might make the argument that we use a lot of Dutch loanwords, but thats about as far as it goes. 205.237.160.194 09:45, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Earthpark Indoor Rainforest
It has just been announced that Pella is going to be the location of the Earthpark Indoor Rainforest project, with construction planned to begin next year.
[edit] Famous People
We need to implement some sort of quality control with the "famous people" section. What's the litmus test of faminosity? Should there be some sort of citation?
- Having or potentially being eligible for a Wikipedia article is a pretty common standard I believe; see the main Iowa article for some examples. Local celebrities with 15 minutes of fame because of doing something clever/stupid should be worked into other sections (and not redlinked, usually), if there's not enough information to give them their own article. -- nae'blis 16:03, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
