Personal chef
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A personal chef is a [chef] that goes to a client's home and prepares meals for their client based on their needs and personal preferences. The chef purchases the ingredients, prepares the meal, and cleans up after the dinner. The menu is preplanned and discussed with the client, then prepared in their home the night(s) of their choosing. The Chef typically prepares the menu prior to arriving at the client's home and puts the finishing touches on the meal when they serve the meal at the client's house.
Prior to the days when the personal chef service is requested, a menu and a budget are submitted for the client's approval. Typically, the chef is given approval, a deposit, or (if familiar with the guest/frequent client) an expense account for the menu. The client pays for this in addition to the cost of the chef's services and gratuity.
Personal chef's also provide meal planning and budget planning for homeowners and second homeowners that are busy with their own lives, but insist on nutritious and tasty meals for their families. Personal Chef's are often Chef's who have worked as Executive Chefs for restaurants or hotels that prefer the personal setting of intimate dinners. --DeeS1919 05:53, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
