Thank you Wikipedia for adding Pete to your online encyclopedia! I know Petey would thank you too :P I'm trying to get Pete the Pup the Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame he most surely deserves! I sometimes wonder how the Our Gang Comedies would be remembered without this much loved dog!?

- He was also seen in a 1920's cartoon, where he was a live character in Briar Studio's Pete the Pup according to some sources.

[edit] Poisoned?
I wanted to clear up "he died after being poisoned by a piece of meat tainted with broken glass. " because glass isn't a poison. But just noting "he ate a piece of meat tainted..." seems to imply that he just happened to eat the meat. But it still seems awkward to say he was "poisoned" by broken glass.

[edit] Tough nut to crack
The Pete page reference which I added some months ago contradicts itself on nearly every major point. In this page, it is asserted that the original Pete's food was intentionally tampered with, but it also asserts that he died of natural causes. It also asserts that Pete's eye circle was natural, as well as asserting that it wasn't natural. Not helpful is the fact that the ring appears in various photos on his left and right eyes, though negative-reversing was pretty common in cinema at that time.
In a word, there's not much truly verifiable info on this page.--Son of Somebody 23:59, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
