I am a retired doctor whose interest in subjects other than medicine and science, particularly local history, has been awakened by studying for an Open University degree in the Humanities.
I believe in knowledge being open and freely available. That is why my user name is my real name. The 'I' is to distinguish me from Sir Peter Vardy, the car salesman, and Dr Peter Vardy PhD, the theologian who writes Christian evangelical books.
