Pie box

Pieboxes are the preferred mode of storage for all types of pies. The singular form piebox is used to carry one pie per box. Pieboxes range in size from ones that fit in the palm of a person's hand, to large ones that require two hands to hold. In addition to just carrying pies, pieboxes can be used to transport a pot pie. Many pieboxes have windows made of cellophane that allow people to see inside without having to open the piebox. Pieboxes are also frequently printed with colorful advertising and cooking instructions. Pieboxes provide many advantages over other methods of containing and transporting pies. They offer a stable barrier to the outside world which saran wrap cannot. This prevents the contained pies from being squished by light objects such as pencils. Pieboxes also offer a much more formal and professional way of displaying pies that simply covering the pie tin with aluminum foil or saran wrap.
