My name is Patrik Austin. I have a BA in Nordic languages from the University of Helsinki, and I am an English and Swedish teacher with a speciality on teaching dyslexic people. Since Feb 2006 I am also in a team making language learning material for a Finnish publisher.
My reason for joining the Wikipedia editorship, however, was because I wanted to correct some errors in my band Dolchamar's page regarding the current line-up. But as I am now making a research on language teaching for dyslexics, I might soon participate in editing topics such as dyslexia, learning styles, VAK/representational systems, NLP, brain gym and accelerated (language) learning.
Wikipedia has many times been of invaluable help in finding sources of information for my research. It seems like the most of what is said in the pedagogics field about dyslexia and the means of helping dyslexic pupils to learn is ill-founded which also confirms my experience in the field.
