"Pilot" is episode one of the first season of the television series Supernatural. It dealt mainly with a ghost known as the "Woman in White."

[edit] Plot synopsis
Sam Winchester is about to graduate from Stanford University and has an interview set up to join one of the most prestigious law schools in the country. His brother Dean Winchester, whom he has not seen since he went to college, shows up at his house in the middle of the night to tell him that their father, John Winchester went missing while on a "hunting" trip. Leaving his girlfriend behind, Sam joins Dean in an effort to find their father in a little town called Jericho, where unmarried men have been disappearing without a trace. They investigate a mysterious death, where Dean jokingly addresses two FBI agents as Mulder and Scully (a reference to The X-Files). The culprit is found to be a "Woman in White," a ghost who preys on unfaithful men. When Sam returns home at the end of the episode, he finds his girlfriend murdered by the same demon that murdered his mother, Mary Winchester, causing him to leave his old life behind and join Dean in demon hunting and trying to find their father.

- Mary Winchester and Jessica, Sam's girlfriend, are both killed on the same day but different years (November 2) and pinned to the ceiling, cut open, and then set on fire by "The Demon."

- As Sam reads out the last cassette tape name "Metallica" Dean grabs it and says "House Rules, Sammy. Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole" while putting it into the tape player. It is a commonly held belief that AC/DC's "Back in Black" starts to play.
However in some versions the opening riff of "Enter Sandman" is played instead.
