[edit] Production details
In the produced version of the "Pilot" episode, Lilly Kane is found by the pool in the same spot where she was murdered. However, series creator Rob Thomas indicated that this was not originally where Lilly's body was to be found. During the audio commentary (which can be found at Thomas's Web site, or a direct link: http://www.slaverats.com/files/DVD_Commentary.mp3) that Thomas recorded for the "Pilot" episode, he says the following (starting at 15:51 -- details edited to remove major plot spoilers):
Another bit of business: this 'Lilly dead by the pool' was re-shot later. Originally, Lilly was found in the ocean, and I had a plan for how everything went down. But when the series got ordered the network asked to hear my overall plan, and they just felt like it was too dark and creepy. It would have meant that {a character} actually disposed of {Lilly}s body in the ocean, {for a specific plot reason}. They decided that was too dark, and we came up with this compromise.
See the "Return of the Kane" episode page for further information.
[edit] Quotes
- Veronica: Leave him alone!
- Weevil: You know I don't usually care what a women has to say unless she is riding my big old bike. But then it isn't really speech, it's just a lot of ooohs and aaahs.
- Veronica: So it's big is it?
- Weevil: Legendary.
- Veronica: Well if it's as big as you say it is I'll be your girlfriend [opens mouth, sweetly and sarcastically says] we could go to prom together.
