Pioneer Telephone is a privately held company with headquarters in Portland, Maine. It is a resale provider of long-distance telephone service in the United States.
Pioneer was established in 1989. In 2005 it was reported that the company would acquire the long-distance business of the bankrupt Adelphia Communications Corp. (also a resale provider of long-distance services, with about 110,000 customers in 27 states) for about $1.2 million.[1] The sale was completed later that year.[2]
