Just like to note where the 50 miles from Hooterville came from. The Shady Rest was said to be halfway between Hooterville and Pixley. In an episode of Petticoat Junction it is said that the hotel is 25 miles from Hooterville. So that means it would be another 25 miles to Pixley. 25+25 = 50.
