[edit] Page move of Headlamp to headlight and associated redirects

You may wish to read this discussion from last year with regards to your recent undiscussed page move of the above article. The fact that so many inbound links to headlamp related to an automotive context should have given you an indication that such a page move should at least have been discussed beforehand.

Unfortunately, your subsequent edits of the page have made a simple revert impossible, and this will now require administrative assistance to repair. I've reverted your page move, see Talk:headlamp (as DeLarge notes). Your new article was deleted and copied below. You can add it to the Headlamp page or start another article with a more specific title.

Another possibility is to make Headlamp the disambiguation page with links to Headlamp (automotive), Headlamp (spelunking) and so on. But you'd need to discuss that on the talk page first.--Duk 17:04, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

I'll also encourage you, rather than summarily deciding to move an article, to please carefully read an article's whole talk page before attempting to move it. If the article has any significant editing history (i.e., not a stub) and/or has already been moved or significantly reconfigured, you will need to please propose the move on the talk page and work toward a consensus decision, then abide by that decision.

As for the question of what to do about the article on caving headlamps, I think the setup as it exists now is fine. Those looking for the caving variety of headlamp have their link right smack at the top of Headlamp, and given that there are only the two articles right now, a disambiguation page is probably superfluous. However, if you feel strongly that there ought to be a disambiguation page, then talk:Headlamp is the right place to discuss it.
