Coat of arms granted to the corporation of the borough of Port Talbot on June 11, 1953 by the College of Arms. The arms were transferred to the Afan Borough Council by order in council dated April 19, 1986. The Borough of Afan was renamed Port Talbot on January 1, 1986. The arms have been obsolete since 1996.
