Power duo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Power duo is a name sometimes given to two-piece rock bands consisting of just an electric guitarist and a drummer, particularly those who follow a similar blues rock style to a traditional power trio, for example the White Stripes and the Black Keys. A power duo can be described as "a power trio without the bassist". This can be overcome however, as Scott Lucas from the band Local H (also a Power Duo) has a bass pickup installed in his guitar, running to a separate bass amplifier. This allows him to play guitar and bass as well as sing at the same time.
