A death at an ice hockey game leads Grissom, Sara and Catherine o uncover the players' personal lives and secrets. Meanwhile, Nick and Warrick investigate the death of a saxophone player in a casino, a case in which Warrick becomes personally involved.

- The series uses a fictional university (Western Las Vegas University), but during one scene the logo for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is prominently visible.
