Provinces of Ethiopia

Until 1995 Ethiopia was divided into provinces (which are still used to indicate location within Ethiopia), further subdivided into awrajjas. They were replaced by regions and two chartered cities with the adoption of a new constitution that year. Until then, those provinces were:
