- An interesting note to insert is that all of the battles are apparently simulations on some level- you can die in the game, for example, although the seriousness of death is downplayed a bit. No, you cannot 'die' in the game. All battles are automatated. Nothing is actually done. It's just a bar that moves across the window. No stats are actually factored in to anything. All equipment is equal to your current level. I had every item stat posted, but someone deleted it all. Items don't reach "maximum" power. - You can die, but are automatically resurrected with a (minor) drop in stats, the (STR) stat at least does affect the amount you can carry and so increases the rate you level up, but all this is automatic, it is a joke, but a joke a rather large number of people appear to be "playing"? - I haven't noticed any stat drops, but then, I can be away from my computer for extremely long periods of time with PQ running, so I'm not quite sure. However I've noticed that when you do "die" all that really happens (in my experience) is that you just kill monsters at a slower rate for a certain period of time. --Xertz 03:18, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Just wondering, can this *really* be classified as an MMORPG? It's a parody RPG, but has no real MMO elements and no player to player interaction whatsoever. The closest thing to that is the online ranking board. --Xertz 22:24, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

- MMORPG - Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, It's not useful so it must be a game, it's playable (Just, It's slightly more than a demo) There are named fanatasy characters so it is Role Playing, it is online, it has massively multiple players who can compete against each other ... So it seems to (just) meet the criterea, the only dubious one is "Game" as it is a Zero-player game Jaster 13:04, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Progress Quest is a parody of RPGs, not MMORPGs. All of the parody targets are in RPGs, and there are no parody targets that are only in MMORPGs. Not sure why someone decided it was mostly a parody of Everquest. It's just as much a parody of Wizardry, surely. Tempshill 06:17, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
