Talk:Provisional Sinn Féin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A huge edit was recently made by an anonymous editor whose other edits were not very neutral. However I know nothing like enough about this subject to attempt to decide is these were neutral or not. Help, please! DJ Clayworth 18:39, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
Now I see what they've done. They've moved the text from Sinn Féin. Probably best reverted as, even if valid, it destroys the history. DJ Clayworth 18:41, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Major rewrite
The article as it stood read as a copy of a Sinn Féin (Adams Family) propoganda leaflet. I've tried to make it at least neutral. If none of the protaganists like it, I've probably succeeded! --Red King 23:32, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] What is this article anyway?
If this article is about the name or usage "Provisional Sinn Fein", then it shouldn't include the "modern party" section. If it is about the party, then the stuff about the name should be very much in second place, and the main Sinn Fein article should be revised to give more emphasis to the historic party with a shorter section on the Provos and a "see main" notice pointing here. As it is we have neither one nor the other. Palmiro | Talk 11:58, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- Good point. Ideally, the stuff about the Adams Family should be here but, given that they have the legal registration of the name, it would have to be reverted as POV (even if it is the "right" PoV!). So I'm deleting all the material relating to their electoral succcess and just leaving it as a description of the "media term". Reluctantly. --Red King 20:14, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
