[edit] Alleged affair
Surely there should be some mention of the alleged affair between her and John Howard? Shermozle 14:31, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
- Shermozle, what the!!!? (comment by Donama 13 March, forgot to sign)
-
- It's a (probably fanciful on the rodent's part) rumour that's been doing the rounds for many years. Shudder.

- Well that article clearly points out it's a fancy on the part of Latham and therefore belongs in the "Mark Latham" article under the heading "baseless imaginings published in his book" rather than in the Pru Goward article. I think if some other source had hinted at an affair between them then the suspicions could perhaps be mentioned here. Donama 23:03, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

- I heard the rumour long before Latham was on the scene. Latham was the first one to put it into the public knowledge, that's all. Read the Crikey article and you'll see that Howard himself seems to have introduced it in 1998. Shermozle 08:10, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

- I think it should be mentioned. If it is false, it should be mentioned to set the record straight; if it is attributable to one source (Mark Latham), then that should be mentioned - Matthew238 04:45, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Birthplace?
Just noticed in the Owen, South Australia article, it states that Pru Goward grew up in Owen. I can't verify it though. None of her official biographies have anything about her early life as far as I can see. Anyone...? Donama 10:33, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
- Pru Goward was born at the Queen Victoria Hospital in Adelaide. She grew up in Morphett Vale in Adelaide's outer suburbs. She has never lived in Owen, although her father has resided there for a number of years.Airbornerescue 11:37, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Centenary Medal
It's an honour web site shows only five people with a name akin to "Pru" were granted this award. None of them has a family name of Goward, Barnett or Fischer/Fisher. ("You searched for Awardee: pru AND Award(s): Centenary Medal which returned 5 results.") Albatross2147 22:29, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
May I suggest you consult "Who's who Australia". You will find not only the Australia Day medallion, but the correct spelling of her first husband's first name and her birth place. I have searched the itsanhonour website for the medals of people I know received awards and still come up with nothing. It is not a particularly robust search engine.Airbornerescue 02:50, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] User:Airbornerescue
Who is User:Airbornerescue? They don't seem to have edited any pages but for this one, deleted most of the talk page for no good reason, and act as if they know Pru Goward personally -
- Their only edits to the page were to change the phrase "Carmen Lawrence, a prominent female politician" to "Carmen Lawrence, a prominent Labor Left politician", and correct the spelling of Pru Goward's ex-husband "Alistair" to "Alastair".
- Their edits to the talk page where removing the sections Alleged affair and Centenary Medal; and adding to Birthplace?, written in such a manner that it seems they know her personally (maybe a staffer), and formatted, without the indented reply paragraph (until I fixed it), in a manner common to those who have never used Wikipedia before.
