[edit] Speedy deletion
I noticed that you tagged the page Paulines diner for speedy deletion with the reason "not notable". However, "not notable" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use one of our other deletion processes, proposed deletion or articles for deletion if you still want the article to be deleted. Thanks! Stifle 01:21, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, Stifle (and sorry for mis-tagging before). I've used prod. I'm slightly offput by the threat on the talkpage to that article, though. Pseudomonas 17:51, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Young & Foolish
I noticed you tagged this article for db-band yesterday. You should know that that is only applicable to the bands themselves, not to songs. I redirected the song into the album. - the.crazy.russian τ/ç/ë 15:30, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I'll try not to make that mistake again. Thanks for clearing it up! Pseudomonas 15:44, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the wonderful smackdown of the homophobic idiot on that IP who vandalized the Gay article. Bigotry is a disease, and it's good to see people with the moral courage to call a spade a spade! I've asked for the article to be permanently sprotected.

[edit] Corporate fascism
No, I had a browse around but couldnt find anything appropriate. I thought maybe Globalisation, but maybe the best thing is AfD, because the title is so POV that there shouldn't be a redirect to globalisation. Jdcooper 17:18, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Amir Abdur Rehman Cheema
Sorry I understand what you're trying to say, however that is a title assianged to some Muslims after death. So it would be appropriate if you left it as I did, see the reason behind this is that there will be other articles made on the same subject hence why if we have the title Shaheed (see link) then this will remove some of the confusion. Also now this is what he will be called, all the south Asian news media use this title for him. --Street Scholar 18:18, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Thanks
- No problem with the help! That IP was going C-R-A-Z-Y with the vandalism of userpages (mine included) so that was a fun little diversion. And look at it this way- you can't say you're a REAL Wikipedian if your user page hasn't been vandalised, right? :) Cheers! --Cabiria 00:48, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stan's Deletion
i can only aplogies for my out burst i am just fustrated at deletion after i had just wrote it! and i feel that the judgment is wrong!
- Pseudomonas, perhaps you can quote the relevant policy under which the articles were deleted, one of the criteria for speedy deletion perhaps? I think that in this case letting the author know what rule exists that is causing his/her work to be deleted would go a long way in alleviating stress because of the deletion. BigNate37T·C 23:01, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
I dont understand purely because it wasnt a blog type, it isnt biased, and doesn't offend anyone —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Stan1983 (talk • contribs) 23:03, 30 July 2006 (UTC).
- Ahh, I see, it was probably {{db-bio}}. Stan1983 would want to check out CSD A7 then. BigNate37T·C 23:13, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- BigNate37: It was originally db-bio, on the basis that there were no real claims to notability. The later speedies were all db-repost.
- Stan1983: you're right that Wikipedia articles ought to be non-biased and non-bloglike, but in addition, they ought to be notable and verifiable. This means that people are only candidates to have articles about them when they're much more well-known than average, and the same goes for bands. There are guidlines here on what this might mean for musicians. Pseudomonas 23:18, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
then I have a further question - how do you define importance? it clearly isnt a vanity page, so therefore you claim the page is not important? Not important to who? How is that defined? They have to be VIP? They have to be dead? Your guildlines need more information - see Red Dwarf, Series 5 Inquisitor and you will see my point.....define your life - what makes you all so important that you CHOOSE to delete? Are you all of worth and such importance that you quote such wishy washy guildlines with no importance them selves? They band has been written about, have their own website, the own fans, ten albums, are genre breaking but are of no importance?--Stan1983 23:22, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Gallery in article Beauty
Hi, you removed my gallery section in the article Beauty stating it was unencyclopedic. However, my goal was to create a gallery so that images of beauty as view by different cultures could be viewed. Also I added different forms of beauty within that gallery. I'm sure you can agree that the images I added were non-bias and encompassed different forms of beauty. However, I do agree a gallery could easily lead to abuse so I'm going to agree with you on removing it.Valoem talk 04:09, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Fair enough. It's less that what you put was bad than that it was destined to become quickly bloated by everyone's pet images into something that was unencyclopaedic. Pseudomonas 06:58, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
On a side note: The image "Sharbat Gula" is hidden. I feel that image is notable enough within the context of beauty to be included. It is consider the most compelling cover photo on National Geographic and is also, as stated in the caption: "regarded as among the world's most iconic and compelling images. Its plain and vivid reflection of human beauty within a context of conflict and suffering remains a well-recognized symbol for the cause of human rights". I feel this image should be included agreed :)? Cheers! Valoem talk 04:09, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Casino Map Deletion
Hello, I was wondering why you deleted the casino map links that I added to several pages. I am a new Wikieditor so forgive me if I am missing something but after reading through the guidelines, I saw no reason why they couldn't be added. The maps are not copyrighted, the links are legitimate, they are highly relevant to the subject and very useful to users. Also, the site hosting them is completely non-profit. Thanks! Lvcasinoinfo
-
- To throw my opinion in: these maps look to be very informative and I didn't see a single ad on your site. It always raises a red flag, however, when a new user joins under their website's name and begins posting links to their site on various pages. I can only see your links being an issue if your site later turned for-profit. 68.184.218.216 05:33, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- I was just wary of someone with the username of the website and no previous edits posting a large number of such links with no edit summaries. If the maps don't include copyright material, you could always consider uploading them to Wikimedia commons, which would save you badnwidth as well. Pseudomonas 07:47, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

I can only see your links being an issue if your site later turned for-profit. 68.184.218.216 05:33, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
I understand the concern. Is there a way to revert back to the version with my links on them or do I need to repost them? I have about 25 more as well. Thanks. Lvcasinoinfo
- How do we know the images are not copyrighted (all works in the U.S. are copyrighted by default even when released under licenses such as GFDL or Creative Commons)? Also, where does your site say it is non-profit? Also, your insertion of these links is in violation of WP:EL (part of the manual of style), under Links normally to be avoided #3. A single-purpose account or anonymous user adding links essentially brands the links as spam—Pseudomonas alluded to this fact when mentioning your lack of contributions to the project outside of these links. He was also very wise in asking you to release these maps: if you put a notice on your website stating that they are available under the GFDL or similar license, we'd gladly use them. BigNate37(T) 20:48, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Other than the fact that they have no copyright info on them, I dont "know" they are not copyrighted. They do, however, certainly fall under fair use. Since there is not a single ad on the site and I pay for the full cost makes it a non-profit website. I personally walk all over Vegas collecting these maps, I scan them and I host them on a server I paid for without taking a dime from anyone. I am not doing myself any favors posting these links here, I was offering them to increase the value of Wikipedia.
As I said, I do understand the concerns but the "shoot first, ask questions later" approach of deletions is brutal and being labeled a spammer simply because these were my first edits is quite insulting. I am sorry if I wasted anyones time on this whole thing. It won't happen again. Thanks. Lvcasinoinfo
- I never called you a spammer. I did, however, explain how your edits would be viewed by editors who patrol recent changes—link spamming is common and I thought it a good idea to let you know how your edits may be received. My saying or not saying that it looks like linkspam will not change how others see it. Now, I step over lines I don't know about as well, and there is no shame in someone letting you know that your edits were not compatible with existing policy or guidelines. I apologise if I offended you by referencing the manual of style, and I thank you for elaborating on the origin of these images in your most recent reply. Regarding your assertion of shoot first / questions later, all I can say is that when you added those links there was a bold line of text below the edit window: If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed by others, do not submit it. BigNate37(T) 02:14, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
- Where do you collect the maps from? If they were drawn by other people, then those people own the copyright. They may then decide to license them under GFDL or another free license, but unless the person who drew them has been dead for many decades, they're not public domain. Adding the copyright notice is helpful, but the absence of a notice does not mean absence of copyright. Whether you profit or not is not the issue here. Pseudomonas 10:58, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- Point taken although I believe they still fall under the fair use rules. I don't want to put Wiki at any risk and I have no desire to jump through hoops to justify their existence. I will not try to post them again. Like I said, I have nothing to gain from this so there is no point in putting anyone in an awkward situation by pursuing it any further. I will be more than happy to accept the risk myself of having them posted on my own site as they have been for the past 5+ years. I appreciate the explanation. Lvcasinoinfo
[edit] ggggggrrrrrrrrrrr
I keep trying to make funny changes to the Tower Hill School page but it keeps changing. I go to that school and i want my friends to see that i have made that funny, because it is funny! Why do you, Pseudomonas, always change it and tell me not to? Anyone who visits that website will think it is hilariuos and free editing can also show endless expressions of style and humour. Isn't that what wikipedia is all about? People of TH visit that and think it is funny, it doesn't make them angry. A lot of people are actually angry at you Pseudomonas you wanna know why? because whatever they post, even if it is nice you say its vandalism. This wikipedia has turned into some crazy form of a DICTATORSHIP YES I REPEAT A DICTATORSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!! and so you don't have look it up, my account is Freemanshotgun. You can delete my account i dont care. I just wanted to get this little piece of my brain onto this website. Peace out asshole.

[edit] Greg Theakston
re: db-bio As presented in the article, the individual did not seem noteworthy. However after some research, I agree that the article should be included. Similally the article on Samir_El-Youssef. Senordingdong 11:45, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- As presented in the article: He eventually illustrated over 500 paintings for dozens of publishers including Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Archie Comics, NATIONAL LAMPOON, THE NEW YORK TIMES, PLAYBOY, TV GUIDE, ROLLING STONE, and most major paperback publishers. Theakston was also a regular illustrator at MAD Magazine for a decade, 1986-1996. He has six lithographs in the collection of Museum of Modern Art. Greg has also developed a system to reconstructing lost comic pages for reprinting. "Theakstonizing" (a term coined by Dick Giordano) How could that *not* sound like a claim of notability? Pseudomonas 11:50, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- In 2005 he was the recipient of the Swedish PEN Tucholsky Award. sounds like a claim of notability to me. Pseudomonas 11:52, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Indian School
The article was tagged with a db-bio as a db-bio refers to a '"group of people". Admittedly, this tag was less appropriate for the Hi Television article. Senordingdong 11:45, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- A school is an institution, not a group of people like a club, a family, or a society. Pseudomonas 11:49, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] talk page
Is it against wikipedia policy for me to delete paragraphs of my talk page? By doing so, I am better able to keep track of currrent events. If people wish to see earlier edits, they need only to look in the history. After all, it is my talk page. This is not a rhetorical question, I really would like to know.Senordingdong 18:31, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- My understanding is that it's OK to archive off your talk page, providing a dated link to the archive, when it gets long, but not to blank the page. Your talk page seems quite short at the moment though - at this rate you might find that the archives build up rather fast. Pseudomonas 18:38, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Naturism
Hi, Pseudomonas. I reverted this edit of yours, since I think something went wrong. Your edit summary said you were removing a deleted category using AWB, but instead the edit involved replacing an external link with a redundant ISBN number. If you think my reversion was in error, I apologize. Powers T 16:23, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- You are quite right, the edit summary was completely wrong. I was using AWB, which has a drop-down box of common summaries, and I have a bad habit of jogging the box by accident and not noticing. The links I was replacing were ones to Amazon where the link didn't actually contain more information than the ISBN - since Amazon links are only good for people in the US who want to buy and useless for people who, say, want to find the book in a library in New Zealand. Pseudomonas 17:21, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- I guess in these cases just listing the ISBN is the best thing (unless of course one's referring to a particular feature of the Amazon site like the sales ranking or a review by someone notable.) Pseudomonas 20:22, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sensei (the band) speedy deletion contesting...
I noticed you tagged my recently created page for Sensei, an up and coming band from Jacksonville, Florida. I have edited the page futher to demonstrate the significance of the article and would be happy to provide you with more information.
Please visit the article's talk page for more information. I would appreciate it if this article was allowed to stay, as it is a notable contribution to the realm of musical documentation. Thanks.

[edit] Careerspice
I decided to prod the page Careerspice and after the creator of the page added external links he removed it. I'm not sure if he added sufficient enough info on it to warrant the removal of a prod tag. (In fact I even wonder if I should've gone with my first hunch and tagged it dbweb.) Could you check it out? >_> -WarthogDemon 21:41, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
- Prods are one-time and anyone can remove them for any reason at all, so they were OK to do that. OTOH, I think it's speediable as blatand advertising. Pseudomonas 21:43, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I reviewed the notability guidelines...it meets them...
Now, what must I do?
Sensei meets criteria 6 for musicians and ensembles possessing not only one, but TWO members of a once notable and nationally touring band. Inspection 12 released 2 albums on Fat Wreck Chords' subsidery Honest Don's, toured 3 times for the pair of albums, and gained notable recognition. The band's next album "Get Rad" has been released by Takeover Records in the US and internationally distributed by Floppy Cow records. Please see Inspection 12 for full bio.
What must I do to get this deletion notice of my page? I wouldn't suggest using a redirect from the already notable band, considering Inspection 12 is still an active project and fans interested in learning about the band would not always want to be immediately guided to Sensei's article.

- I'm not sure why you reverted this. It still looks like a fair call to me - I can see you might disagree with me but labelling it vandalism is a little strong, no? Pseudomonas 00:57, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Ummm....all I did was looked at Party Poker wiki page, to give me ideas how to write it. Maybe you should revert the Part Poker wiki page too! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 1066seagull (talk • contribs).
- OK: you changed "online poker site" to "online revolutionary poker site", which is suspicious. You added stuff about it being "one-in-a-kind" which sounds pretty WP:POV. You changed the bit that it claimed to offer "an immersive, engaging and realistic poker experience" to actually saying that it did offer "an experience to poker players and video gamers alike a realistic engaging poker experience not currently used on any other poker". Do you see why Wikipedia can't be making these claims on behalf of the site without extraordinary support? Pseudomonas 15:30, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
