Pure Software
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pure Software was founded in 1991 by Reed Hastings, founder and CEO of Netflix. It was originally designed solely around a debugging tool for engineers called Purify. After consistently doubling its revenue every year for four years, Pure Software went public with the help of Morgan Stanley in 1995. In 1997, Pure Software merged with Atria. Later in 1997, Rational Software acquired Pure Atria for $750 million, giving Hastings the capital to start Netflix.
