Qarabagh District, Ghazni

The Qarabagh(Qarah Bagh) district is located 56 km to South West of Ghazni.It covers 1 800 sq.km area.The district is one of the most populated -109 000,but some reports count more than 200 000.There are two ethnic groups -55% Pashtun and 45% Hazara.The landscape is different in the different parts of the district-deserts in the South West,plains in the South East and mountains in the North.The district like the other areas is seriously affected by the drought,especially the farming and animal husbandery.The health and education need serious improvement.The district center is the town of Qarabagh.
