N'vyus (born Quentin Anthony Anderson in San Francisco, California) is a west coast hip hop artist from California. He hails from Washington State as well. N'vyus came to fame with his underground classic, My Hate Song which was hailed by many critics as a "great start to an unknown career". Much of the hype surrounding N'vyus is largely exaggerated, such as his rumored "death", his signing of multiple artists to his Rampagge Records and his signing to various record labels as well. He has released a moderately successful mixtape entitled "L.I.F.E" and is releasing his debut album, The Masterpiece on May 19, 2006.

[edit] Biography
N'vyus starting rapping in 1999 with fellow rap partner/friend OnSlot in Washington state. The two would regularly entertain small groups of friends and mall shoppers with on-the-spot freestyles and songs, usually rapping about trivial pleasures such as dates, video games and other rapper's lyrics. Soon, OnSlot and N'vyus gained exposure to a small, independent record label, Illmannered Records (no affiliation to Queen's rapper Nas) but the venture went sour, with N'vyus later releasing numerous lyrical jabs at the label and its artists.
N'vyus and OnSlot parted ways in 2003 without recording an official album and N'vyus moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. While in Louisiana, N'vyus began working on his first solo mixtape, L.I.F.E in 2003 and released it in the summer of 2004. The mixtape, though roughly put together, featured such underground artists as the 303 Boyz, Freeze, Q-Ball (now known as Mac Milla), Menace Da Fiend, and a reunion with OnSlot through an incarcerated freestyle. The mixtape faired well locally, but failed to move units outside of the area. N'vyus then focused on his newly formed record label, Rampagge Records and his producing career, working with artists nationally and internationally. In November of 2004, N'vyus returned to the studio and began working on his debut album The Masterpiece. The album met many setbacks and release date changes, but is currently scheduled for a May 2006 release. In his own admission, he claims that the setbacks have been due to his own need for perfection and self-satisfaction. The year and a half-long project has leaked at least 4 tracks throughout mixtapes and the Internet.
[edit] Album Difficulties
N'vyus official debut album has been subject to multiple setbacks, dating back to the summer of 2004. The orginal title of the album was to be Stages: Dangerous Intuitions and had been announced to be released in June of 2004. The album had been prepped for release and specific tracks, such as "Never Again" and "Never Stay Still" were intentionally leaked across the internet. In May of that same year, Rampagge Records announced that the album would be pushed back until January 19, 2005. In December 2004, however, the album was once again pushed back to a March date. In 2005, the album met three more set backs before releasing So High (featuring Chasa & VC of Enrapture) as its lead single. In February 2006, N'vyus personally announced the release of his album to be May 19, 2006.
Sources say that these setback were the choice of N'vyus and his perfectionist work ethic during the production of his album. N'vyus reportedly went through 13 possible singles (most of which eventually failed to make the actual album) before settling on So High, a track that emphasizes an affection for marijuana usage.
[edit] Establishing Rampagge Records
In 2003, N'vyus and OnSlot began branding themselves as "Rampagge Records" to appear to be signed already in an attempt to be heard by local radio. Soon after, the two officially established the label, signing themselves as the first solo and group acts simultaneously. After N'vyus left to Louisiana, OnSlot left his position of co-CEO of Rampagge Records and N'vyus regained full control of the label as its CEO/President. The first outside artist signed to the label was Baton Rouge rapper Menace Da Fiend under his previous alias Yung Gutta. After the deal expired, Menace Da Fiend left to form his own record label with Washington rap artist Mac Milla. N'vyus later signed another Baton Rouge rap artist Freeze and participated in a co-venture with Ball Hard Entertainment in promoting Da S.W.A.T Team (Menace Da Fiend & Mac Milla) with their debut album, Game Tite.
In 2004, N'vyus brought OnSlot back into the label as an artist and signed R&B songstress Ce'Neisha to the label to work on solo projects. In 2005, N'vyus signed Houston R&B crooner Ronyell, also granting him distribution for his vanity label Bornstar Music through Rampagge. Rampagge Records also signed an east coast rapper rap artist, Luna and his Sin City Records, but the deal never developed completely and was abandoned shortly afterwards. Rampagge is also working to sign 17 year old singer J.Michelle.
