Queen of the Troubled Teens
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Queen of the Troubled Teens was the first single released by Idlewild on the Human Condition label in March 1997. Receiving only small scale acknowledgement initially in Edinburgh record shops, receiving praise from local students and BBC Radio 1's Steve Lamacq. Included are the B-sides "Faster" and an early recording of "Self Healer" (featured later on the "Captain" EP).
The song is actually the epitome of the band's early sound. It is a short punchy punk angst offering - something totally different to what the band was producing by the Warnings/Promises era. It is not played at gigs anymore, and is one of the songs claimed to be part of the new 'Ten More Years of This' best of EMI years offering which the band has confirmed to be released before Christmas 2007.
The band lineup for this single was :
- Roddy Woomble - vocals
- Rod Jones - guitar
- Phil Scanlon - bass
- Colin Newton - drums
Formats - 7" vinyl (very limited pressing)
