RABS

Remote Area Broadcasting Services (RABS) is a program to provide Australians in remote areas with TV and radio services. These are broadcast on the Optus Aurora satellite platform, which many people receive directly. Others receive these services via terrestrial repeaters.
The TV services offered include ABC TV, SBS TV, two commercial television services in each remote zone, and two community style services. There are also radio services.

RABS, Stewart Davenport, Upjohn (now Pfizer) Kalamazoo, Michigan coined the acronym RABS in the early 1990’s to describe an alternative device to a barrier isolator. As defined by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), RABS is a type of barrier system for aseptic processing of pharmaceutical products that reduces or eliminates interventions into the critical zone, as compared to conventional clean room aseptic processing.
