Race Rocks Lighthouse

Race Rocks lighthouse is in British Columbia, Canada, located at . It is 16 km (10 miles) SW of Victoria and is at the south tip of Vancouver Island. The lighthouse is run by Lester B. Pearson College. It was first activated on Boxing Day in 1860. In the 1980s, the lighthouse keepers were the Redheads. They were very hospitable to all comers. Joan Redhead was famous among regular visitors for her excellent muffins and for the striped black, white and red woollen hats that she knitted and gifted to her guests.
