[edit] Photo's
I have just reverted due to lack of an explanation/assumed vandalism, a photo of Hunter on the cover of Playboy. It appears this particular person has trouble with some photos, and with this one illustrating/backing up a piece of factual information, it seems inappropriate to remove it. [edit] Biog
This entry needs serious work. On June 29 I trimmed Hunter's entry back to a style more suited to an encyclopedia rather than a gossip magazine, removing the duplicated mention of her birthplace; the meaningless reference to her parents being "middle class" (NZ has no definable upper class or lower class as exists in other countries); the irrelevance of her parents' "rocky relationship" (a claim that, with divorce rates around the 40% mark, has no importance); the claim (again irrelevant) that her parents divorced when she was a child (they may, going by one credible source, have divorced when she was 16); her "dreams" of being a ballerina; the unsubstantiated claim she was one of the most photographed models in the world .. etcetera etcetera.
Now all this pap is back in. I'll be taking it out when I get a chance. Grimhim 01:37, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
I have once again removed the same detail I took out on June 29, and for precisely the same reasons. Of course any girl is going to become more extroverted as they leave puberty.Grimhim 10:06, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Howard Stern incident
I'm offended that my piece on Hunter's walkout at the Stern studio was interpreted as "gossip"; I stated the facts I saw them (I should say, heard them). I listened to the live broadcast of the incident on Sirius, and tried to portray in as unbiased a light as possible. I just want to put that out there.
- I'm not suggesting it didn't happen, or that your account is biased. But an encyclopedia entry on a person doesn't need to go into all the breathless detail ... "they didn't realize the show would be taped for Stern's inDemand channel, and backed out citing that she wasn't camera-ready, despite comments from producers that she looked stunning. After some deliberating and a seems to have been a show-down between her publicist and the producers, Hunter allegedly stormed out of the building, cancelling four other appearances that she was to have made in the Sirius building." This stuff does belong in a gossip column; it hardly needs to be recorded for posterity. I'm sure Rachel Hunter, like Elton John or Oprah Winfrey, has plenty of hissy-fits, but Wikipedia isn't the place to lay out the gory details. The reference to her clash with Stern as it stands is sufficient coverage.Grimhim 23:02, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- If that's the case, then I'm fine with the changes. I didn't realize how I was portraying it, thank you. =)

- Can one ask - what reference? There isn't one....! I agree with context that gossip column stuff is not notable encyclopedicaly unless it leads to other incidents/forms part of a long term pattern - which one incident certainly is not. I guess we have an editor who just doesn't want it mentioned and is not willing to debate. Rgds, - Trident13 08:58, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cover photos
Whether Hunter appeared on a Vogue cover is a matter of dispute. The reference to this has been added, removed, reinstated and removed again. I have found several references online in stories in The Sun and Mirror to her appearing on cover of Vogue at age 17. These are possibly the British or Italian edition of Vogue. Does anyone know for sure?Grimhim 23:14, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
