From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ragged Mountain is a privately owned ski and golf resort in Danbury, New Hampshire in the United States. As of July 2004, it was the only New Hampshire ski resort to have a six-person chairlift. [edit] Overview
Ragged Mountain is a medium-sized New England mountain with a vertical drop of 1,250 ft, which provides some extremely challenging terrain, particularly glades skiing. An unusual feature for a mountain this size is its Out of Bounds (OOB) skiing. There is no condominium development near the resort.
[edit] Chairlifts
Ragged Mountain includes 50 trails on two main peaks, and 9 lifts, including:
- Six-Pack (six-person chair lift)
- Two Triple Chairs
- Three Double Chairs
- Two Rope Tows
- Snowtubing Lift
[edit] Other
- Because the mountain is rarely as busy as the larger family-oriented New Hampshire ski resorts such as Loon Mountain or Waterville Valley, the lift lines are usually very short. Après-ski opportunities within 30 miles are negligible.
- Ragged Mountain now operates Blue Hills Ski Area in Canton, Massachusetts. Blue Hills is on public (state) land and operations of the ski area are leased out. Ragged is in the last year of a 6 year operations lease.
