Rally Ireland

Rally Ireland is a new addition to the World Rally Championship calendar in 2007. The event will take place on the weekend of November 15th-18th 2007 and will be based in the north-western counties of Sligo, Fermanagh, Donegal, Leitrim, Tyrone, Roscommon and Cavan.
Rally Ireland is supported by both the Irish and British governments. It is managed on a day-to-day basis by Seán O’Connor and Ronan Morgan who have more than 35 years WRC experience between them. The Chief Executive is David Marren, who has extensive experience in Formula 1. The Board of Directors is Chaired by Eddie Jordan, founder of Jordan Formula 1 team, and Deputy Chairman is Trevor Ringland, the former Lions Rugby International player who has 34 caps for Ireland. In addition, a steering committee which is charged with developing the event is in place. This committee is chaired by Austin Frazer and includes representative of Motorsport Ireland (MI) and The Association of Northern Ireland Car Clubs (ANICC).
The FIA World Rally Championship is one of the world’s most popular spectator sports, attracting live audiences of more than 11 million spectators over 16 rounds, with a global television audience of 807 million.
Rally Ireland will be the 15th round of the World Rally Championship (WRC) in 2007. This will be the first time that the WRC has visited the island of Ireland.
