From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ramsey Youth Centre Old Boys Football Club (RYCOB) are a football (soccer) club from Ramsey on the Isle of Man. They compete in the Isle of Man Football League and the Isle of Man Football Combination.
Formed in 1945, they wear blue and black strips (uniforms). They play their home games at Lezayre Road in Ramsey.
Nicknamed 'the youthie,' George Kermode's side were once a dominant force in the first division on the island, until recently. The club are now struggling to get out of the lower division. Things are looking up though with a young, developing team, and a Semi final place in the cup last year. This season so far has also been one of the best starts to a campaign in five years.
They Like to Score early goals, and have speed in the wide areas. With key player Simon Kinrade (Combination player of the year 04/05) due to return from injury in February, things could improve dramatically. Other players that need to stay fit are captain Andrew Walton, Centre Back Andrew Black, Forward Martin Muphey, left midfielder Alex Dodderal, club player of the year Mark Faragher and new signing Andy Cleator, who have all been in good shape this season so far.
The current playing field for the club is due to be referbished for a new school. but development on an all weather pith for the club is due to begin soon. The future looks bright for ramsey youth centre, but in honesty, a few more quality signings are to be made if the club want to push for major and consistant success.
