Rape pornography
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rape pornography is a genre of pornography involving the depiction of rape.
There is disagreement among feminists and social conservatives over whether this form of pornography encourages men to commit rape, and whether it denigrates and devalues women. Numerous studies have produced different results to the correlation.[1] Some also argue that rape fantasy is a sometimes sadomasochistic fantasy that can be enjoyed from either a passive or active perspective, by either men or women, with or without any desire to act a scene out in a role-play.

[edit] Methods of production
Rape pornography can be produced either by:
- Actors pretending to be raped or raping — e.g., an actress pretends not to consent to sexual activity with one or more actors, but in reality is a consenting participant who may be acting in the scene for money, personal enjoyment, or other reasons. In this case, although the sex depicted is given the appearance of rape, all participants are actually consenting.
- Real, actual rapes, recorded by the perpetrators. This method is largely hypothetical, as no examples of widely-available rape pornography produced in this manner have been documented.
[edit] Rape in Animation
Rape is also a popular theme in hentai. As Hentai is an animated depiction of sexual activities, there are no legal boundries. Many anti-pornography protestors claim that rape-hentai encourages violent sexual behaviour as it often depicts acts that are performed in reality.
[edit] Legality
In the UK, it was announced on 30 August 2006 that possession of depictions of rape would become a criminal offence [1], including those involving consenting adults, and images which are faked.
