In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the ravid is an outsider from the Positive Energy Plane. It resembles a long, pale, whitish-violet serpent, about seven feet long and half a foot wide, with a draconic head. Coming directly up from its neck, a little back from the head, is a single short arm with a claw-like hand. It hovers, swimming through the air, using positive energy.
The ravid seems to have little goal in life. It swims through both the Positive Energy Plane and the Material Plane, touching things with its neck limb. To living things it touches, it gives life, energeticness, hyperactivity; it also brings inanimate things to life. Inanimate things which it animates float, following it around, wherever the Ravid goes. If the ravid is attacked, it defends itself by overly charging its offender with positive energy. It can also bite, and whip with its tail. Any animated objects which are with the ravid will try to help it by attacking the attacker in whatever way they can. The purposes of either a ravid or the objects which follow it are not known.
Ravids are not known to speak.
They are neutral in alignment.
