Sergeant Ray Steele was a police officer in the long running ITV drama The Bill. He arrived at Sun Hill in July 1993 and finally left in April 1996. He ended up leaving Sun Hill after a death in custody where the suspicion was originally pointed at him but he was later found to be innocent. His callsign was 55.
