Raynor Johnson (1901 - 1987) was an English physicist and author.
Born in Leeds, England. He attended Oxford, then in London earned a PhD and DSc in physics. He taught physics in London and Belfast, working for a time with Ernest Rutherford in the Cavendish Laboratory. Johnson, increasing interested in "the esoteric", became connected with the Society for Psychical Research in London.
Johnson's religious background eventually led to work in Australia, where he became a Master of the Methodist Queen’s College at the University of Melbourne for 30 years.
Eventually his interest and writings in esotericism created concern for the Methodist Church. Johnson retired from the University in 1964. By that time, Johnson was regarded as a world authority on mysticism and psychical research.
